Cairo giants Al Ahly have reportedly launched a bid to sign Santos winger Lucas Braga ahead of the new season.
Al Ahly have had a disappointing season after missing out on the CAF Champions League title after suffering a loss to Wydad Casablanca in May.
The Red Devils are also trailing rivals Zamalek by ten points in the Egyptian Premier League table, with the latter on course to win a second straight title.
Club president Mahmoud El-Khatib has already said the remaining league fixtures will be treated as a pre-season, with senior players taking a break ahead of the new season.
El-Khatib also promised fans that big signings would be made to strengthen the squad and it looks like Al Ahly have identified their first summer transfer target.

According to a report from ESPN, Al Ahly are interested in acquiring the services of Santos and Brazilian striker Lucas Braga.
Al Ahly reportedly submitted a proposal of around $4 million while offering the player a four-year deal.
However, club president Andrés Rueda is keen to keep Braga and will only listen to offers above $10m.
The 25-year-old has scored a total of 14 goals and provided 10 assists in 144 appearances for Santos in all competitions.
