Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) announced a series of leadership changes and the formation of four new business groups within its government services arm following HII’s acquisition of Alion Science and Technology.
Former Alion executives Todd Borkey and Chris Bishop have joined the HII Technical Solutions division as chief technology officer and chief growth officer, respectively, the shipbuilding company said on Wednesday.
Borkey will oversee the division’s technology strategy, technical operations and related developments. He previously held the position of CTO at Alion and held the same position at Thales Defense and Security and DRS Defense Solutions.
Bishop will help shape and execute Technical Solutions ‘growth strategy and deliver new platforms to address clients’ national security challenges. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Growth Officer at Alion and held leadership positions at ManTech International (Nasdaq: MANT), URS, NCI Information Systems and SRA International.
New business groups that will join Technical Solutions’ unmanned systems and nuclear and environmental services groups are cyber warfare and electronic warfare; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; living, virtual and constructive solutions; and sustaining the fleet.
Terri Walker-Spoonhour, former senior vice president of operations and head of the distributed simulation group at Alion, will serve as chief operating officer and interim president of the cyber warfare and electronic warfare group at HII Technical Solutions.
Garry Schwartz, former head of the defense and federal solutions group at Technical Solutions, will oversee the ISR group as chairman.
Glenn Goodman, who was previously Executive Vice President and General Manager of the LVC Integrated Solutions Group at Alion, will be President of LVC Solutions for the HII Division.
Ryan Norris, former Fleet Sustainment Business Line Leader in the Defense and Federal Solutions Group of Technical Solutions, will serve as President of the Division’s Fleet Sustainment Group. .
Chris Soong, former SVP and CIO at Alion, joined HII Technical Solutions at CIO to oversee the division’s IT systems and business infrastructure, data analytics, business development applications and collaboration platforms.
Rich Fisne, who previously served as Senior Vice President of Contracts and Purchasing at Alion, has been appointed to the same role at HII Technical Solutions.
Andy Green, executive vice president and president of HII Technical Solutions and winner of the Wash100 award in 2021, said the company has appointed the executives to help the division accelerate the delivery of national security services to its customers and boost its growth efforts.
