HII Technical Solutions to help US Navy Expeditionary Logistics

The Technical Solutions Division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) has received a contract from the United States Navy to provide the Naval Expeditionary Logistics Support Group (NAVELSG) with logistics support products and services.

The mission order is valid for five years and was awarded through SeaPort NxG. It will be carried out at Cheatham Annex, Yorktown, while other HII sites in Virginia will also support the order.

The company will continue to offer asset management, integrated logistics support and specialized services, such as overhaul, assembly, hardware and network support.

These activities will enhance NAVELSG’s ability to assist forward deployed service members.

Garry Schwartz, President of the HII Technical Solutions Defense and Federal Solutions Business Unit, said, “For more than a decade, our team has fulfilled its mission to ensure the Navy and Joint Forces have the equipment that military personnel deployed around the world need for optimal preparation.

“We are committed to this vital operation and look forward to continuing this decade-long partnership with NAVELSG.”

NAVELSG is an essential enabler of maritime prepositioning forces, joint logistics operations on the coast and maritime forces ashore.

It provides expeditionary cargo handling services for land, air and terminal operations, as well as tactical resupply and weapons handling and reporting to assist naval, joint, interagency and related forces worldwide.

HII’s Technical Solutions division supports national security missions around the world with unmanned systems, defense and federal solutions.

In July this year, the HII Technical Solutions division restructured its internal organization and business groups. This decision follows a review of the division’s current capabilities and organizational structure.
