Kaizer Chiefs’ best off-season signing may well be the one made off the pitch after their latest addition to the club’s technical team arrived at the club’s Naturena base.
The Chiefs signed seven new players along with the addition of Mduduzi Shabalala who was promoted to the club’s first team, making eight new players in total.
However, it’s not just on the pitch that Amakhosi is sounding the changes.
The club recently shook up their behind-the-scenes staff with the addition of Muzi Maluleke, a sports scientist who is also an IFBB PRO.
Maluleke, affectionately known as ‘Muz Monster’, arrived at Naturena on Monday morning after finishing second on his professional debut at the Expo Supershow held in Brazil, to take on his new role at Chiefs, having worked for the University of Pretoria where his work received wide acclaim.
A big problem for the Chiefs in past seasons has been the nagging injuries that have plagued their biggest players. The likes of Itumeleng Khune, Keagan Dolly, Khama Billiat have all had their fair share of injury problems; however, Maluleke is considered the solution to this problem.
According to his personal website, Maluleke is a strength and conditioning specialist with a master’s degree in sports science.
