NYC’s bid to host 2024 Democratic National Convention under spotlight at Javits Center

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) – New York Mayor Eric Adams and New York Governor Kathy Hochul appeared together at the Javits Center Thursday morning to discuss the city’s bid to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention .

The city officially launched its bid in May, proposing Madison Square Garden as the main venue for the event, with the Javits Center available to host various portions of the convention.

The proposal would allow all convention events to take place within a 20-minute walk of each other, according to organizers.

“This is the most diverse city in America, and one that reflects not just the Democratic Party, but the entire nation,” Adams said during the nomination launch. “There’s no better place for the DNC to host its convention than New York City.”

The 2020 DNC took place at the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware.
