Sustainable Integrated Urban Living | “Srinagar embraces modern technical tools”


Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated two prestigious projects, the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) under the Srinagar Smart City Initiative and the Srinagar Municipal Corporation Stormwater Drainage System in Shalteng.

Calling the Integrated Command and Control Center the nerve center for all smart city IT interventions, the Lieutenant Governor said the center will act as a city situation room, integrating civic operations and creating opportunities for data-driven decision making. The new facility will provide a single platform to monitor and address public issues in real time, he added.

The Lieutenant Governor said, “Srinagar Smart City aims to ensure and increase livability, sustainability and efficiency for all citizens. The holistic approach to the operation of Srinagar Smart City will help achieve five long-term goals: smart mobility, smart economy, smart environment, smart lifestyle and smart governance.

Breakthrough technological interventions bring efficiency in urban governance and strengthen the responsiveness of different stakeholders. Srinagar is embracing modern technical tools for sustainable and integrated city living, the Lieutenant Governor said. Real-time data will ensure efficient management of services such as water, electricity, mobility, education, health, environment and security, he added.
