Taiwan supports Belize’s infrastructure projects

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment John Briceño today received a bilateral cooperation grant from David Kuan-Chou Chien, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for the year 2021 in within the framework of the bilateral cooperation program between countries.

The Government of Belize will use the funds to cover part of the expenses of major infrastructure projects, including the modernization of the Caracol Road and the construction of the new administration building in the Lake Independence area of ​​Belize City.

These are projects started under the previous administration and inherited by it. In both cases, the government negotiated millions in savings to complete each project.
