By Benjamin Flowers: A rainy day like today is proof enough that communities in Lord’s Bank are in the throes of flooding, and the Department of Infrastructure Development and Housing has decided to provide much needed aid to the villagers.
This week MIDH dispatched teams to Lord’s Bank to help deal with the flooding by clearing the streets, as well as clearing and shaping the drains.
“There is still a lot of work to be done, but residents can rest assured that we will not stop until we have done everything,” the department assured residents of Lord’s Bank.
The work at Lord’s Bank is one of a number of projects MIDH is carrying out in the Belize District.
Crews have also been dispatched to Belize City in areas such as Belama and Lake Independence to help the Belize Council repair streets, with the overall goal of improving the quality of life in these areas.
