By Ruben Morales Iglesias: After heavy rain on Thursday, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) had to rush to repair two culverts on the Philip Goldson Highway, the last being that at Mile 40 on Friday evening.

“Quick response from MIDH and problem solved by the contractor,” said a source at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development.

The hole left by the collapsed culvert was filled temporarily until the culvert was replaced.

Previously, early Thursday morning, MIDH was to perform a similar repair by Biscayne at Mile 27.

MIDH said it was working on a project to replace outdated culverts along the Philip Goldson Highway, but those two culverts collapsed before they could be repaired.
