Pune, June 2, 2022: MIT-ADT University and CREDAI Pune Metro, in mutual interest, have come together to collaborate on a university-industry partnership program to train graduate students from all disciplines and qualify them for the real estate sector, post their students in training must be ready to take up employment in the sector after successfully completing their courses.
MIT-ADT University is a prestigious university driven by the vision of providing a world-class, value-based education. CREDAI-Pune Metro is an association of property developers from Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and PMRDA region with a strong membership of around 1120 developers having their projects in the above mentioned areas.
Through KUSHAL, its training wing, CREDAI-Pune Metro has empowered workers with skills that will help them on their career path. So far, more than 70,000 construction workers have been trained in various trades, as well as more than 2,000 engineers.
Ranjit Naiknavare, Vice President of CREDAI Pune Metro, said, “There is a huge shortage of skilled and trained personnel specifically in the construction industry, both on the technical and non-technical side. Accordingly, to bridge this gap, we at CREDAI Pune Metro have entered into this groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding with MIT-ADT University. With this step, we are sure that the offered programs will open job prospects for all qualified students.

Through this unique partnership between industry and academia, students from all disciplines will be trained to industry requirements by Industry Stalwarts through these courses. This will increase the employability of graduates and ensure employment opportunities in the real estate sector.
The courses offered under this program are as follows
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD/) in Real Estate and Infrastructure Management (from July 2022) – This one-year postgraduate diploma program offered by MIT College of Management, MIT ADT University, is a bespoke program designed to meet the needs and requirements of the construction industry. This course aims to provide training and employment for graduates from the city and mofussil areas. Graduates of any discipline can enroll in this course. There are many job opportunities in the construction industry for these students.
BBA Real Estate & Urban Infrastructure Management (from July 2022) – this is an undergraduate degree program. The course focuses on the field of real estate, infrastructure and urban development. This course helps manage tasks such as land, surveying, cost estimating, construction planning, labor hiring, regulatory processes, and project management. Along with them, the course also covers topics related to fieldwork in real estate, including urban development, planning, and infrastructure.
Commenting on the merger, Dr Sunita Karad said, “I am extremely excited to launch the two programs; one at the postgraduate level, namely a graduate degree in real estate and infrastructure management and the other at the undergraduate level; BBA Management of real estate and urban infrastructure.
“We believe that intense competition in all areas has necessitated the need for such industry-specific programs. Both programs are designed to meet industry needs and demands and will provide specialist knowledge and skills relevant to the real estate industry. These programs will enable students for guaranteed employment to fulfill their dream as a top-flight management career in the real estate industry,” she added.
The infrastructure sector is the main driver of the Indian economy. India’s construction industry employs around 51 million people – the second largest employer – and contributes around 9% to the country’s GDP. In addition, it creates more than 45 million jobs directly or indirectly. By 2022, the Indian construction space is expected to become the largest employer and is expected to employ 76 million people from current levels of over 60 million.
