Chelsea turn to Skriniar as De Ligt interest cools
Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
The Blues are prioritizing top defensive additions in Todd Boehly’s big-money summer overhaul after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers.
Sevilla star Jules Kounde and Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt have been Chelsea’s priority targets in this regard so far, but the Daily Mail reports that Skriniar is now in their sights with De Ligt deemed too expensive at £102million (his current release clause).
They could firm up that interest with a bid of around £64m, but still face competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who are believed to have already tabled a bid worth £52m.
It looks like Chelsea will be hoping their positive relationship with Inter could help win this particular battle, with the two clubs having recently agreed Romelu Lukaku’s return to San Siro on loan.
Spence takes more vacation as Tottenham talks continue
Djed Spence has been given more time away from Middlesbrough as he looks to link a move to Tottenham.

However, talks are dragging on with Tottenham reluctant to accept a deal worth £15million plus substantial add-ons.
ESPN reports that Spence has now been given an extra week off from Boro as transfer negotiations continue, with former loan club Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Borussia Dortmund also keen on signing him.

The Dutchman is also keen to reunite with current Ajax duo Antony and Martinez, although he faces stiff competition for the duo.
The Daily Telegraph reports that United have now been told they will have to pay £130m to land the two players, with Brazil winger Antony valued at £70m and £80m and the Argentina centre-back Martinez at £45m to £50m.
As mentioned earlier, Arsenal have a strong interest in Martinez and have reportedly made a second offer for his services.
Chelsea target Dembele for Barcelona exit
Chelsea target Ousmane Dembele is closing in on a Barcelona exit.
The French striker is out of contract at Camp Nou this week and the late talks over an extension haven’t gone well, according to reports.
According to the Daily Mail, Dembele’s agent Moussa Sissoko traveled to Catalonia for further talks on Monday with no progress despite Xavi cutting short his holiday to be there.
Barcelona can’t afford to match the player’s current salary due to his well-documented financial issues.
With his deal set to expire on June 30, the Blaugrana are reportedly demanding a final decision on Dembele’s future 24 hours earlier.
