UK private equity investor YFM has backed water leak detection specialist SOS Leak Detection.
SOS provides non-destructive leak detection and repair services, working primarily with insurers, adjusters and property managers.
The buyout was led by SOS Managing Director Jamie Nash, who has worked in the industry for over 30 years.
Nash said: “I joined SOS Leak Detection earlier this year because I could see that with the right support, SOS has huge potential for growth.
“The company has established a reputation with insurers and built a brand with homeowners as the best-in-class contractor for dealing with hidden leaks from water claims. SOS can perform the full search and repair service cost-effectively while providing minimal disruption.
“We already have an impressive following, bolstered by several recent wins, which puts SOS in good stead.”
YFM Managing Partner David Wrench added, “SOS Leak Detection has carved out a strong niche for itself in the repair and restoration space, combining technology, exceptional training and industry-leading levels of customer service. industry to effectively solve drainage problems, reducing waste and costs for insurers. and property managers.
Previous investments in YFM’s technical services have included MBOs from passive fire protection specialist Checkmate, fire and electrical compliance services provider RGE Services and claims management and claims specialist GHG.
YFM typically invests between £2m and £10m per deal in UK regions.
He closed his second buyout fund in 2019 at £80m.
